Now that that is out of the way, let me throw my definition into the ring. Its not my definition at all really. A lot of people have put it on paper but I would say God actually designed it.
Man's role: protect, provide, support, and lead.
Woman's role: protect, provide, support, and lead.
Wait, what? Isn't that the same? A chord of two strands isn't easily broken. That isn't because one is made of titanium and the other a squishy mess of emotion (thats what modern American Christianity says). A chord of two strands isn't easily broken because when one fails, the other stays strong and vice versa. Its less likely that both strands will fail at the same time. Does it happen? Yes. Is it the rule? Probably not.
Now to address some skeptics:
Have you ever come between a mother bear and her cubs? Females are bred to protect.
Read Proverbs 31 if you think women aren't allowed to provide.
You probably agree women are to play supportive role, but men? Aren't they supposed to be the ones being supported with a clean home and well behaved children? Did Christ support the church? Than you (husbands) should play a supportive role when you're wife needs one.
"Women can't lead, I know the Bible says that. They especially can't lead men." The fact is that women are leading all around the world. Formally and informally. Instead of telling women to be weaker and stop leading we should tell men to be stronger and start leading. Am I saying women aren't strong leaders? No. I'm saying God designed men to be stronger leaders. Women shouldn't be held responsible for our failure as men.
